How to Report Suspected Abuse

Contact local law enforcement and child protection services.

If you know or suspect that child sexual abuse is taking place online, you can also call the Cyber Tip Line at 1-800-843-5678.

In reports regarding abuse by representatives of the Church, in addition to reporting to civil authorities, follow the directives of the Safe Environment Policy of the Diocese of Crookston found HERE.

When clergy, diocesan, parish, or school personnel and volunteers file a report with local law enforcement concerning sexual abuse of a minor by a cleric or one of the diocesan or parish personnel or a volunteer, notify the Bishop's Delegate within twenty-four (24) hours and, supply a copy of the written report.

To make a report regarding abuse by a bishop:
The Catholic Bishop Abuse Reporting Service has been established to receive reports of sexual abuse and related misconduct by bishops, and to relay those reports to proper Church authorities for investigation. Where a report includes a crime, such as the sexual abuse of a minor, it will also be reported to civil authorities. Otherwise, reports will be kept confidential. CLICK HERE or call 1-800-276-1562.
