Encounter is the first stage of the Diocese of Crookston's Faith Formation framework and is designed for young children and their families. Rooted in the understanding that parents are the primary educators of their children in the faith, Encounter strengthens the partnership between the home and the parish. Through family-centered gatherings, at-home faith formation, prayer, and the celebration of the liturgical year, Encounter equips families to grow together as disciples of Jesus Christ while building a strong foundation for a lifelong relationship with Him and His Church.

Sophia Institute
Family of Faith from Sophia Institute is a flexible, comprehensive resource that helps parishes put family-centered faith formation into practice. Grounded in Sacred Scripture and the teachings of the Catholic Church, the curriculum provides families with accessible opportunities to learn and live the faith together at home while giving parishes a solid framework for gathering, prayer, community, and formation. Its adaptable structure allows each parish to use the resources in ways that best serve the needs of its families and community.
