The Northland Catholic Community Foundation (NCCF) also known is a separate, nonprofit corporation which is tax-exempt pursuant to section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The NCCF manages investments for parishes and Endowments, Donor Advised Funds and Donor Designated Funds for individuals within the Diocese of Crookston. The Foundation manages a number of endowments, some for the benefit of parishes and others for the benefit of needs throughout the local the diocese. The endowment for the Education of Seminarians, the Mount Saint Benedict Endowment Fund (MSBE Fund) and the Faith for Tomorrow Endowment are also included. The NCCF administers the grant—making process for the MSBE Fund, Lazarus Fund and Baby Jesus Fund. The Foundation also administers the Faith for Tomorrow Endowment (FFT), which makes grants to parishes for education, adult and youth faith formation, evangelization, and vocation initiatives. As a Catholic organization, the NCCF draws the values, directions, and criteria that guide its financial choices from the Gospel, universal Church teaching and by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (IJSCCB). At the present time, investments are managed by Innovest. Innovest uses a screening tool and vets fund managers and individual equities to assure gifts or agency accounts are in line with our values and Catholic social principles. The NCCF also makes loans to parishes within the Diocese for various building and maintenance projects.
