St. John Paul II Camp is a 5-day, 4-night camp designed for youth entering 7th and 8th grade. The primary goal of JP2 Camp is to immerse participants in their Catholic faith and community, fostering a meaningful encounter with Jesus Christ. Throughout the camp, youth will have the opportunity to attend daily mass, go to confessions, hear from engaging speakers, and spend time worshipping the Lord in adoration and prayer. Youth will also grow in friendships through small groups, games, and participating in camp traditions!
This year’s camp will take place on July 20-24, 2025, at Oak Hills Christian College in Bemidji, MN (1600 Oak Hills Rd SW).
Registration opened on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
Registration fee: $375 per camper | Please note there will be a credit card charge, however, if you use a debit card or echeck, there is no service charge.
Camper spots are currently full, please join the waitlist and be notified if/when spots open up.
1. Register your campers(s)
A parent/guardian will create a log-in and from there be able to register all their children at one time for Jp2 Camp, Service Team, Fiat (Totus Tuus) Team, and St. Teresa of Calcutta Camp.
You will fill out all basic information, medical, and liability waivers at once, then click which camp or team your child will join. You will pay for all your children at the end. (This will take +/- 15 minutes depending on your family size)
A waitlist will automatically begin and still allow you to register your child for camp. If your child is moved off the waitlist you will be notified through email.
2. Payments
Our registration software allows families to have access to a dashboard and pay through credit, debit, or e-check. You may either pay in either installments or in full upon registration.
If your parish can sponsor a youth or if your child has a parish student account, the parishes will reimburse the families directly and not to the diocese.
3. Dashboard
Do you want to register another child a month later? Login to the dashboard with the same email and password you used upon registering. From this dashboard you will find “Add another camper?”
Do you want to pay your remaining balance? Login to your dashboard and make a payment at any time.
Do you want to edit a form, allergy, or medical history? Login to your dashboard and find all those options available to you.
4. Service/Totus Tuus Team
Are you looking to join our leadership teams? Your parent/guardian will register you like a camper on the dashboard, click your team, and pay your registration fee.
Your parent/guardian will then receive an email from Cassandra Johnson with your application form. Please fill out the application and return it to Cassandra by email [email protected].
You will then receive a follow up email with your acceptance status. Both teams will be solidified by the end of April. In the event that your application is differed or not accepted, the Diocese of Crookston will reimburse your registration fee.
5. Staff
If you are interested in being staff for the Saint John Paul II Camp, please email Cassandra Johnson [email protected]. There will be no paper application form for staff but rather a phone conversation to determine if this camp is the right fit for your ministry! Thank you for your desire to serve!
What is the Service Team?
Juniors-Seniors in High School The Service Team has a unique and essential role at our Saint John Paul II Camp. This team is led by Service Team Directors and is made up of incoming juniors and seniors in high school. This team’s role is to do little acts of service with great love to serve the staff and middle schoolers at JP2 Camp, while having fun and growing in their faith. More than anything else, those on service team are called to live as leaders and an example of what it means to be a Catholic.
On the Saint John Paul II Service Team you will lead fun games throughout the week such as small group games, skits, meal graces, and campfire jokes! You will also take the time to interact with the campers, serve meals, and grow in community with your team. Most importantly, the Service Team takes time each day for personal prayer, praise and worship, receiving the sacraments, and learning how to be active leaders in the faith.
What is the Fiat (Totus Tuus) Team?
Returning Service Team Members “Totus Tuus” is a Latin phrase meaning “Totally Yours.” We are once again following in the footsteps of our camp’s Patron Saint, Saint John Paul II, as he used the phrase “Totus Tuus” for his papal motto. St. John Paul II took this phrase from St. Louis de Montfort’s True Devotion to Mary, which was a devotion that profoundly changed his life. “Totally Yours” signifies our desire to give ourselves totally to Jesus through Mary.
“Fiat” is a Latin word meaning “let it be done,” and specifically refers to Mary’s response to the angel Gabriel at the Annunciation. Mary’s “yes” to the Lord is one that this team will strive to imitate. Mary’s surrender to God’s will and St. John Paul II’s radical commitment to Jesus through Mary is what the Fiat (Totus Tuus) Team will learn to imitate.
Members of the JP2 Fiat (Totus Tuus) Team will focus their week of camp around prayer and spiritually serving the camp. On this team, returning service team members will learn how to lead through prayer, assist in preparing the sacraments, share testimonies, and grow in their personal prayer life. This team will be led by a Prayer Director and be a steppingstone group from the physical service that the service team provides to spiritual service. The Fiat (Totus Tuus) team will also occasionally overlap with the Service Team during times of prayer and for community building.
